I actually love that my phone knows that I’m very likely at work at 4:45, very likely heading home, and tells me how long the commute up Supulveda is likely to be today. It makes the experience magical. And Apple encrypts this data — cops, for instance, have to use cell tower data, which is much more available to them. It’s usually what’s missing from articles like this – the value of the tech to making the user experience great, and the many alternative ways Big Brother or Little Scamweasel are getting this data anyway if one were to be overly worried about it.
